My experience with Turkey Tail Mushrooms
This is slightly off topic from the CBD but I am also keen on health and wellbeing immune system support today is more important than ever, it gives us the ability to combat and overcome many viruses.. “I’ve never needed supplements I don’t get sick” I thought the same 3 years ago I caught chicken pox at 25 years of age, since then I have been trying to keep my immune system in shape and to detox my body from all of the toxins some of us that live in a built up area have to deal with in day to day life, I was riding a bike to work at the time 10 miles a day and must have badly damaged my immune system breathing in engine fumes for most of the journey just to earn a days wage. I have been taking turkey tail mushroom supplements for a long time now and thought I’d share this with you all!
The effects which I personally experienced are amazing I’m not sure if it’s the combination of the two (CBD+Turkey Tail) or if Turkey Tail has this amazing effect on its own but it seems to make me feel really grounded and at one with nature and it made me think it’s kind of like the symbiotic relationship Turkey Tail and many other types of beneficial fungi have with decaying trees.
Many fungi form a close, beneficial relationship with the roots of plants too. These fungi are known as mycorrhizal. Their spreading threads or hyphae increase the surface area available to the roots for absorbing nutrients, especially phosphorus. The fungus benefits by getting sugars from the plant. This mushroom is Amanita nothofagi, which lives in association with mānuka and southern beech trees.
What Are the Benefits of Turkey Tail Mushrooms?
Mushrooms have been used in medicine and other ancient healing modalities for thousands of years. Many herbal formulas incorporate functional mushrooms for their unique immune-supporting, antioxidant and healthy-aging properties. Turkey Tail, a famous polypore mushroom, whose shape and swirling variegated colors resemble the tail of a wild turkey, has recently garnered a lot of public attention due to studies that demonstrate its ability to support immune function and gut health.
One of the most researched of all functional mushrooms, Turkey Tail is in a class of its own. It is known in particular for its potent natural polysaccharides, such as a protein-bound molecule known as polysaccharide K (PSK), one of many polysaccharides that studies have shown can support a healthy and robust immune response, as well as polysaccharide peptide (PSP), which can help support management of an inflammatory response at the cellular level.
You can often find Turkey Tail Mushrooms in the UK.
